A fabulous example of Italy's most famous red wine, from an exceptional producer. Sumptuous black cherry fruit character on the nose, followed by fragrant hay, dried cranberry, dried cherry and kirsch. Underneath these, subtle nuances of creamy milk chocolate, truffle, violet, cracked pepper and seared steak emerge gradually. In the mouth, it has fabulous, velvety texture, with great richness from the well-ripened tannins, no shortage of flavour to plump it out and crisp acidity providing freshness and balance. This is absolutely delicious to drink already, although 15 minutes in the decanter before serving will help bring out its best. The wine's concentration, tannin structure, fine balance and brilliant track record also suggest it will cellar well, so be sure to order enough to keep you going for a decade!

Winemaking
The prince of Montalcino, Brunello is produced exclusively from Sangiovese (Sanguis Jovis = Blood of Jupiter) Grosso grapes, picked by hand from the oldest vines on the estate. Mature vineyards are planted with the cordon spur system, at an elevation of 150 and 450 metres above sea level.
Press Review
94/100 - A saturated red color, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is pretty and inviting with aromas of baked cherries, toasted spices, cedar, dark cocoa, and rosemary. Full-bodied, it retains an even spine of acidity, plush tannins, and a savory and sanguine, mouthwatering finish. Hints of iron-rich earth frame the wine beautifully, and it's a generous wine with a lot to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years.
