Peddlers Gin Co
What does Shanghai Dry Gin taste of?
A quick flurry of citrus sparks ahead of fresh floral scents (lotus flower). Buddha’s hand as a citrus is somewhere between bergamot and lime and combined with the lotus – this is inviting.
To taste the juniper core is clear but soon moves over as Sichuan pepper takes over the finish. The spice is both citrussy and piny, integrating it all in a lovely melange that blooms when you add tonic.
We recommend adding a wedge of grapefruit or a lemon peel in a Peddlers G&T. Alternatively, double down on that tingling spiced finish by making a Sichuan Negroni and adding some burnt cinnamon or cassia as a garnish.

Peddlers also have a Barrel Aged edition of their dry gin, which has been matured for three months in French oak barrels that were previously used to for Napa Valley Pinot Noir. Lovely to sip over ice!
There’s also the sensational Salted Plum edition, which is stylistically similar to a barrel-aged sloe gin. The gin is a layered infusion of their Dry Gin, with salted plums, mulberry, orange peel and osmanthus which is then aged in Oloroso sherry barrels to give it a dry finish. Simply incredible.
