Striking Vineyard Building

El Porvenir de Cafayate is a female-led, family-run winery rooted in Argentina’s Cafayate Valley, representing a modern expression of cafayateño wine. The estate is led by Lucía Romero Marcuzzi, a third-generation figure in the wine industry, who has directed the bodega since 2013, overseeing its international growth and stylistic direction. Winemaking is led by head winemaker Francisco ‘Paco’ Puga, an oenologist and agronomist trained in Argentina and Burgundy, who joined El Porvenir de Cafayate in 2016 after extensive experience across Salta’s diverse wine landscape.

Vineyards are planted at elevations between 1,700 and 2,500 metres above sea level, placing El Porvenir among the highest winegrowing estates in the world. The extreme desert climate of Cafayate, characterised by intense sunlight, low rainfall, poor soils and pronounced diurnal temperature shifts, drives low yields and highly concentrated fruit. These conditions shape wines with depth, freshness and rounded tannins, expressing both innovation and a strong sense of place. El Porvenir is part of a generation of producers redefining Cafayate through precise, terroir-focused viticulture and contemporary winemaking.

Sustainability is central to El Porvenir de Cafayate’s long-term vision. The estate practices integrated, sustainable and organic viticulture, supported by the naturally dry climate, which reduces disease pressure. Both vineyards and winery are certified under the Sustainability Protocol of Bodegas de Argentina and audited by ECOCERT, reflecting a structured commitment to responsible farming and production.
