Boasting 370 hectares of vineyards, the Abecassis Estate stands as one of the largest independent producers in the Cognac region.
Under the stewardship of Francis and his daughter Elodie, a highly skilled team oversee the vines at over a dozen different locations across the region - each fuelled by their meticulous attention to detail, and their desire to create truly distinct Cognacs that reflect their terroir.
There's no mass harvest and homogenised blends here- at maturity, the Ugni-Blanc grapes are harvested plot by plot and immediately pressed on site in order to avoid the transport and overly long treatment procedures.
Growing & Ageing
It's not just the soil and the vines that have their distinct locations.
In order to highlight each terroir's uniqueness, the individual vineyard estates boast their own distillery and dedicated distiller, employing carefully tailored distillation techniques to further accentuate the location’s individual personality.
Once distilled, the art of blending comes into play.
With ample space and time, Abecassis's estates house twenty distinctive cellars and around 3500 barrels of maturing eau-de-vie. Each cellar, whether dry or humid, adds its own unique touch to the Cognac, creating diverse palette of flavours.
