Wine to go with a Chocolate Egg

With Easter eggs in abundance, and invariably a chocolate cake on the menu this Sunday, it’s only right that I find a sweet, wine match for chocolate.
Traditionally chocolate is a hard one, sweet dessert wines such as Muscat are perfect for fruit, but clashes with the bitterness found in chocolate. I’ve found sweet reds, with lower alcohol than most stickies and an abundance of fruit flavours fit the bill. My choice is made with sun-dried grapes from Valpolicella, this luscious, sweet, raspberry and blackberry flavoured red, with hints of vanilla and dark chocolate will wash down any grown up Easter egg!
