Tom's Tasting Suggestions - Glaetzer Special
Laura on 10 Apr 2015
Our recent cellar clear-out has brought to light some older vintages from Glaetzer. There are eight vintages and three wines here – but all are sourced from the same ancient-vine fruit (up to 120 year-old Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon) from the Ebenezer district in the north of the Barossa Valley. The Shiraz was originally bottled under the name Glaetzer Shiraz, but when Ben Glaetzer took over from his father in the early 2000s, he phased-in Amon-Ra, a pure Shiraz from the very oldest vines, followed a couple of years later by Godolphin, a blend of old vine Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Godolphin was re-named Anaperenna in 2006.
Happy tasting!
