Red:
2010 Barbaresco DOCG, Coste Rubin, Fontanafredda
Barbaresco is a wine which demands attention and respect: for its prestigious history, which is the result of hard work, but above all on account of the splendid sensations it offers in the glass. Decanter magazine’s recent article on the rise of Barbaresco means that it should no longer play second fiddle to Piedmont’s more famous Barolo.

2009 Brunello di Montalcino, Il Poggione
Classic Brunello which scored highly in a Decanter magazine tasting last year. The team awarded the wine 93 points, remarking on its ‘ripe and concentrated blue and berry fruit aromas with notes of spice, cocoa and leather.’

2008 Amarone Classico Corte Bra, Sartori
For more than 100 years the Sartori family has been a leading producer in Valpolicella. This ruby red Amarone has the characteristic rich, ripe fruit aromas of the style, with notes of blackcurrant, raspberry, and dried herbs. It is full bodied with refreshing, bright acidity, and a long, lingering finish.

2010 Vino Nobile DOCG, Vigna Asinone, Poliziano
This Sangiovese is made by one of the area’s top producers, treated to 18 months in barriques and left to rest in the bottle for a further 8 months. The nose is full of spice, dark cherry and brilliantly judged new oak. A Tuscan beauty that is drinking now but will gain further complexity from further ageing over the next few years.

2010 Barolo DOCG, Sori Ginestra, Conterno Fantino
This Barolo is a regular winner of Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri (3 glasses) award – the Michelin stars of wine. The grapes are grown on the famous cru of the same name in Monteforte, an historic vineyard that is considered one of the finest for growing the Nebbiolo grape. Classic aromas of tar and roses greet the nose, with very fine tannins on the silky palate.

White
This varietal Fiano is one not to miss – it is, without a doubt, one of the finest examples of this variety to be found anywhere on the planet. In January Olly Smith featured the wine in his column for the Mail Online, writing that was "thrillingly poised between peach and pineapple and great with seafood."

2012 Vintage Tunina IGT, Vinnaioli Jermann
Jermann are situated close to the Slovenian border in Friuli, north east Italy, their wines continuing to push the country’s vinous boundaries. Decanter magazine’s Ian D’Agata chose the wine as one of his ‘white icons of our times’ in his recent Italian supplement. It’s an intriguing blend of late harvested local grapes, as well as better known Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

Sweet:
From one of the rebels of Soave country, Robert Anselmi, who selects his grapes from the vineyards that are identifiable by the adjacent 'capitelli' (chapels) which, from experience, are the best geographic positions to produce grapes. This unctuous wine spends 16 months in barriques and between 1 and 3 years in the bottle to mellow the flavours of apricots, honeycomb, tobacco, and spicy orange.
