2010 Reserva, Pago de los Capellanes 

Decanter magazine gave this 5 stars (19/20) for its “perfumed violet, red and black berry, toffee, butter, chocolate, liquorice, vanilla and balsamic nose.” The best wine of their recent Ribera del Duero tasting.

2009 Villa Oliveira Touriga Nacional, Casa da Passarella

Mark Squires of Robert Parker fame wrote of this fresh, complex red: “this graceful wine says Dão in so many ways, from the refined mid-palate to the crisp, bright finish and the subtlety. It is a Burgundy lover’s Touriga...” A Valentine’s treat, perhaps?

Madeira Sercial 10 Year Old, Henriques & Henriques

The driest style of Madeira, fermented later than sweeter styles like Malvasia or Verdelho. Complex and almondy, with hints of dried fruits and a fresh mouthwatering acidity.

Madeira Verdelho 10 Years Old, Henriques & Henriques

Made in a medium dry style with a deeper amber colour than Sercial, and a little more sweetness. Layers of dried fruits and nuts are complemented by a touch of caramel.

Madeira Malvasia 10 Years Old, Henriques & Henriques

Fortified earliest in the fermentation process, this is the richest, sweetest style of Madeira. Deep amber in colour with intense flavours of walnuts, dried fruits, coffee and caramel.
