Librandi, Ciro Bianco 2012

A 100% Greco from the Calabrian COC of Ciro, the producer is self-described as ‘Mediterranean at heat’, which certainly rings true here as this wine is so lively, summery and fruity. There’s a citrus zing to a pear drop and apple sherbet nose with soft, sweet vanilla notes. The palate displays apple, off-dry flavours and a rounded mouth-feel. £9.95

"Must Buy White" for October

Leyda, Pinot Noir Reserva Leyda Valley 2011

Gingery, resinous hints on the nose with aromas of red fruits, roasted peas, blackberry and undergrowth. Freshness and lift, with this invigorating, food-friendly wine, delivered in an earthy, lean style.

Earthy, with brooding nose that shows minty touches to the dark cherry. It is balanced with brisk acidity and raspberry lingering to the end. 17.75/20

Leyda, Sauvignon Blanc, Garuma Vineyard, Leyda Valley 2012

Composed with a creamy nose, crisp lime aromas and a herbal hint. Palate is restrained but makes an impact with herbal-tinged green fruit. Impressive.
