Key Flavours
Serve
Intense, freshly prepared espresso aromas waft out of the bottle. There's subtle vanilla notes too. To taste, there's a lighter viscosity overall, with a lively roasted coffee flavour growing around a rum base, finishing on bitter dark chocolate.
Process
Algebra uses a process of fractional cold extraction to create the intense coffee brew, which is then blended with rum and cane sugar. At just 100 g per L, it has the minimum legal sugar content for a liqueur - it's Extra Dry.
People
Algebra was founded by Yves Cosentino, a drinks industry veteran who worked at a senior level for many of the big multinational companies before branching out to pursue his passion project.
Place
Algebra process their coffee beans in a London lab, making an intense coffee extract. They then blend it with Caribbean rum and cane sugar and bring it to Thames Distillers in Clapham for bottling.
