This is full of wood, caramel and fudge, like a box of delights, with a mellow, fruity finish.

Winemaking

In September, villagers handpick grapes by the river, moving uphill over 3 weeks. Heat-loving varieties are planted near the river. Most grapes foot-trodden in lagares for flavour and colour. Port aged in oak casks, blended at Taylor's in spring. Tawny wines mature in 550-litre pipes.
