Seresin Estate

Seresin Estate, founded in 1992 by renowned cinematographer Michael Seresin, is located in Marlborough, New Zealand, and is one of the country’s pioneers in organic and biodynamic wine production. Tucked away in the Southern Valleys sub-region, the estate spans the Raupo Creek Vineyard, where they cultivate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Gris. The winemaking is led by Tamra Kelly Washington, a key figure ensuring that the ethos of natural and minimal intervention winemaking is upheld, producing wines that express the true character of the land.

The viticulture at Seresin Estate is deeply connected to the land, with a focus on organic and biodynamic practices that aim to reflect the unique terroir of the Raupo Creek Vineyard. The vineyard’s clay and sandy loam soils are perfect for growing a range of varietals, particularly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Seresin uses wild yeast fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing for slow, natural processes to shape the wines. Seresin Estate is committed to sustainability and biodiversity, with its entire vineyard certified organic by BioGro and farmed biodynamically. The estate is managed as a holistic ecosystem, with olive groves, vegetable gardens, and native vegetation interspersed among the vines.
