Ixsir, whose name means "elixir" in Arabic, symbolises the essence of purity and excellence in winemaking. Founded in 2008 by a group of friends passionate about crafting Lebanon’s finest wines, the winery embodies a blend of heritage, innovation, and a commitment to quality. Located in Batroun, Ixsir sources grapes from the best terroirs across Lebanon, from coastal plains to high-altitude vineyards. The winemaking team, led by Gabriel Rivero, brings together expertise and vision, creating wines that are celebrated both locally and internationally for their unique expression of Lebanese terroir.
Ixsir distinguishes itself through a meticulous approach to viticulture, selecting grapes from the highest vineyards in Lebanon, some reaching altitudes of up to 1,800 metres. This diverse terroir allows Ixsir to cultivate a range of varietals that thrive in Lebanon’s varied microclimates. The winemaking process combines traditional methods with modern techniques, focusing on minimal intervention to allow the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine.
