A vivacious old-vine Barossa Valley Grenache, Pax Aeterna expresses notes of tart cherries, straight off the tree, along with exciting, spicy clove and aniseed. The palate captures the variety's savour, nuance and delicacy, with bright, lip-smacking tartness, crisp fruit and super-succulent tannins. A glass of this, lightly chilled, is pure pleasure. The vines were planted more than 90 years ago, and were themselves cuttings taken from the some of the earliest Barossa Grenache plantings, from the mid-1800s.

Winemaking
From vines aged 93+ years planted on sandy soils in the Vine Vale district of Barossa, Pax Aeterna is made using a mix of whole-bunch and destemmed fruit, macerated gently and then aged for four months in large, neutral oak barrels and released early to express the frank, direct, delicious fruit of young Barossa Grenache.
