In keeping with the Margaux terroir generally, and the Palmer house style in particular, this classic vintage produced a wine which was approachable relatiively young, while with the potential to age magnificently. Expect seamless silkiness of texture, with persistent cassis and plum fruit, maturing to fig and prune, and then the inimitable peacock's tail for which wine from this hallowed address is so desired: a panoply of baking spices, frankincense, Cuban cigars and other intriguing nuances. This is made mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot playing an important supporting role.

Press Review
93/100 - Deep garnet colour going a little brick. The nose is very forthcoming with a good intensity of earthy loam and black truffle aromas mingled with dark cherry, leather, tar and black olive. Medium to high acidity and a medium+ level of very fine tannins. Great balance. Long finish.
