The Evangeline Syrah has beautifully juicy blueberry and blackberry fruit, opening up with air to reveal fantastic spicy complexity, with notes of pink peppercorns, coriander seed, ginger and bay leaves. It's lip-smackingly succulent, with gloriously caressing texture, fine freshness and long, sustained flavours on the finish. Feather-soft tannins make this immediately irresistible - it has the balance to keep, but why defer gratification?

Winemaking
The fruit for this Syrah wine comes exclusively from the Noack Vineyard, at 410m altitude in Springton, Eden Valley (S 34° 42’ 133 E 139° 05’ 01”). It spends 18 months in French oak puncheons and hogsheads. Farmed and crafted with minimal Intervention, and bottled unfined.
Press Review
93/100 - A very loud, lifted perfume shows familiar cool climate Eden Valley characteristics of violets and bright purple fruit. The slimline palate is more controlled, showing modest blueberry over blackberry and some sunny ripe plum in a plush mid-palate that persists and lingers until the soft-grained tannins guide it down to gentle landing. Drink 2024-2030.
