Tom started working for Great Western Wine (now GWC) in 2000 after returning from the USA, where he was first introduced to the wine business. He wrote a letter to the MD seeking an interim position before starting training as a vicar, and the MD hired him for a Christmas season, after being impressed by his my wine knowledge at a tasting. Tom was hired permanently, and two decades later is still here! With so many fascinating new flavours to discover Tom rarely drinks the same wine twice, but his job has enabled him to visit the great châteaux of Bordeaux, and to explore the vineyards of Burgundy and the Rhône valley. More recently, Tom has been captivated by the landscapes and wines of Alsace, the Pfalz, Rioja, Penedes and Priorat.
