Edward's favourite producer of 2023 is Seresin Estate from New Zealand.
Located in Marlborough, New Zealand, Seresin Estate was founded by film-maker Michael Seresin in 1992, and is one of the country’s first organic and biodynamic wine producers. Tucked away in the folds of the Southern Valleys sub-region, Seresin’s single estate wines hail from the clay & sandy loam soils of the Raupo Creek Vineyard where ethereal Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris thrive.
Edward's interest in wine was sparked by a local merchant when he was at school in Lancashire, a fantastic cellar of a place called D. Byrne and Co of Clitheroe - now, we are pleased to say, customers of The Great Wine Co. During a business degree at Northumbria University, an industrial placement took Edward to Seagram Distillers to work in global marketing for Chivas Brothers. He returned there for a stint post university but left the corporate high life and moved to Bath and into the wine industry with The Great Wine Co. Now Edward works with private clients, as well as overseeing the website and general retail marketing. Edward's interests (besides wine) include running, skiing and good food.
