Dani's favourite producer of 2023 is Varvaglione from Italy.
Varvaglione is one of the oldest wineries in Southern Italy. Across their 150 hectares, Varvaglioni focus on Puglia’s native grape varieties, and their extensive portfolio includes red wines made from Primitivo, Negroamar and Malvasia Nera grapes as well as white wines made from Verdeca, Falanghina, Malvasia Bianca and Fiano grapes.

Dani's journey in the wine industry started with Enotria & Coe after working in hospitality for a few years. At first, Dani was part of the customer services team in London which gave her a great insight into the operations of the wine business. When the opportunity to join the team at The Great Wine Co. in Bath came along she could not help but be drawn to this amazing opportunity, and made the move to Bath in the summer of 2018. Since then, Dani has learned a lot about wine and been fortunate enough to meet some of the amazing producers, hearing their their fascinating stories and getting to know their wines. Being Italian, Dani is very loyal to her roots and her favourite wines tend to be Italian - especially Barolos and Gavi.

The Great Wine Co. is celebrating its 40th year in 2023. Throughout the year, we will be celebrating in the only way we know how - with great wine and with great company! Join us at our celebrations throughout 2023, and this November enjoy our staff's special selections for this anniversary year!
