Mature nose underpinned by delicate oak and vanilla aromas, layered with hints of ripe fruits and honey. To taste subtle notes of wood and vanilla are enriched with flavours of gingerbread, candied dried fruit and nuts. Long spiced finish.
Process
St-Rémy sources wines from vineyards across France, including Burgundy, Champagne, Loire Valley, Bordeaux and more. It distilled in a continuous copper column still before being aged for a minimum of 6 years.
People
Having helped with the creation of limited editions of St-Rémy, Cécile Readout was appointed Master Blender by her retiring predecessor Martine Pain in 2016. The company is owned by owned by Rémy Cointreau.
Place
First established in 1886, when Paul-Emile Rémy Martin II identified the region of Machecoul whose “Gros Plant” grapes were similar to the famed “Folle Blanche” of the Charente. St-Rémy is still created in Machecoul, near Nantes, France.
