Process
Kavalan follows Scottish production methods, but the key difference is the tropical climate they age in and their use of unusual yeast strains (which can operate in warmer temperatures and produce the signature fruity flavours).
People
Kavalan was founded by Mr. T.T. Lee’s. His ambition to create Taiwan’s first whisky took him across the old world to the sacred distilleries of Scotland and Japan where he drew his inspiration. The rest, as they say, is history…
Place
Kavalan Distillery has been pioneering the art of single malt whisky in Yilan County, Taiwan (from which it takes its name) since 2005. Their quality is internationally recognised and put the country on the map.
