Pure Scot is made by Bladnoch, the oldest 'new' Whiskey distillery in Scotland. In 2015 it was purchased by entrepreneur David Prior, with Master Distiller, Ian MacMillan, at the helm and significant investment in the distillery facilities.

Bladnoch’s history dates to 1817 when John and Thomas McClelland were first granted a license to distil on their Bladnoch farm, Dumfries and Galloway - the most southerly distillery in Scotland.
