Process
Unpeated Lowland Single Malt is matured in American Oak Casks, to produce a malt-rich Lowland whisky - mild, refined and very drinkable, with notes of fresh grass and citrus.
People
In 2015 the distillery was purchased by entrepreneur David Prior, and with Master Distiller, Ian MacMillan, at the helm and significant investment in the distillery facilities. Bladnoch may well be the oldest 'new' Whiskey distillery in Scotland.
Place
Bladnoch’s history dates to 1817 when John and Thomas McClelland were first granted a license to distil on their Bladnoch farm, Dumfries and Galloway - the most southerly distillery in Scotland.
